I Heard He Draws Too.... by Yusef-Muhammed I Heard He Draws Too.... by Yusef-Muhammed
This started out as a character design for a collab with a fellow deviant but at some point it took on a life of its own and I didn't fight the progress of it. I just let my hand do what it wanted and this is the end result. I have to draw something every now and again to stay in practice after all.

I've notice my sketches don't have the sketchy quality to them anymore. Don't know if that is good or bad. You tell me.

I feel this had a graffiti look to it. I may make a tag to go with it.

I don't like how these sketches are displayed.
With the orange stroke+white glow+black background.
It seems to take away from your work.
I think a lighter some what hint of a texture background and a slight black or transparent stroke would work better.

I love your penciled line work. Especially since it's a cartoon.
If you had the right person coloring/painting on it, it would look really sweet.
You have a really good quality of lines in the tones and shading.

Not like Joe Mad's work, his doesn't work right. Except for the cover of the sleeve for the hardcover collection of Battle Chasers.
But rather like Stefano Caselli's work with the current Spider-Man. Same principles used with Joe Mads current work but better execution. I have a feeling it's the colorist.

Ok I'll take that into consideration. I always have the originals to go back to. And your forgetting Mad's work on The Ulimates 3. That was sweet! I also took a liking to Caselli's work back on the Initative a few years back. Both are subliminal inspirations to me. Thanks for the feedback!

I thought Mads work in Ultimate's 3 was too dark and confusing at times. It seemed to lack in contrast of shades, dark and lines. Plus I'm a big fan of inked Joe Mad, seems to have more of a dynamic punch.
Just my opinion. I'm sure many disagree.
